Tonight we were grilling some shish-ka-bobs for dinner and Tim had been out with the grill but he came inside to grab something. I was busy getting things ready, but I turned around and Tim had no clue that this HUGE bug thing was on his back. I couldn't even talk, I just started screaming like a banshee and told Tim to run outside. So, like the obedient person he is, he just went running and I shut the door behind him as I continued to scream my face off. I finally managed to yell to him that there was a bug on his back. So then Tim starts spinning around like a dog chasing his tail, trying to get the bug off. He is yelling at me to help him, but there was no way I was getting withing arms reach of that thing. So he finally flicks the thing off and it flys up on our door and he gets a look at the thing. We are both stunned- it looks like a grasshopper on steroids!!! It was a good 6 inches long and had these nasty looking legs!! Yuck. Anyway, I guess that's what happens when you live in the desert.

The Fowers Family Reunion Part II
Sorry, it would only let me download 4 pictures at a time for some reason. This was fun; All the men decided to launch water balloons. This is Craig and Curtis launching, and guess who was the target...
Yep, Tim was the target by the stop sign holding out his shirt. This entertained the men for a good hour.
This is Emmary getting tad poles.
Here is Isaac beating the pinata. Nice Swing!
And here is the newest Fowers family member: Harrison. He is so sweet :)

Family Reunion Time
We had such a fun time at the Fowers Family Reunion last week. Unfortunately, we didn't pull out the camera too much the first 2 days, but oh well. We got to Gunnison on Thursday and that night Tim and I went to the Manti Pageant. I had never seen it so it was fun. On Friday we went up the in the Manti-La Sal mountains and 4 wheeled. This was so much fun for everyone. Here is some of the kids: Emmary in the background, Landon, Brinley, Carson, Isaac, and Logan.
We took a little family 4 wheel ride and I was very nervous about the kids, but Tim went slow and it made me feel safer. Emmary was even telling him to go faster and go through the water! Davis was just content to be squished between mom and dad!
This is where Emmary spent all of her time: glued to Brinley's side. Brin was such a good sport to let Emm be her little shadow.
Brinley has 2 kittys and we were impressed at how brave Emm was around them. We had to keep telling her to put the poor cats down and let them breathe for a minute!

The Cat's Out of the Bag
It's time to let the cat out of the bag. Some of you may know this anyway, but Tim go laid off from his job. It is real hard to be a civil engineer in St. George right now. Most of the people who live here are in jobs related to the housing market, just like us. But since the housing market has completely crashed, Tim's work had nothing for him to do. We are very sad about this because we loved his company and Tim would love to be able to go back and work for them one day if things work out to make that possible. In the mean time, Tim is working full time at finding a job and I couldn't be prouder of him. He is on the phone and emailing and searching the web CONSTANTLY!! I can't even make phone calls during the day because he is so busy using the phone. Speaking of phones, Tim's cell phone is no longer ours because it was a work number and he had to turn it back in when he left. So erase the 680... number because it won't lead you to us anymore.
We wanted to share this on the blog for 2 reasons. 1- to thank those of you who do know for your concern and prayers. I can't speak for Tim, but I feel totally uplifted and strengthened by all of your prayers. I am really not worried about things working out. I know things will happen for a reason and we are looking at this as a major learning experience. Some days are better than others, but for the most part I am feeling pretty positive. 2- To see if we can get any referrals from our loved ones on possible job options. We are really trying to stay in St. George because now we are tied to this house and we would lose money on the sale. But also, we just feel at home here. This is where we want to be and where we want to raise our kids. We know we might hit a point where we have exhausted all options and will have to look elsewhere. But until we get that inspiration, we are waiting for a miracle. So if you know anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone in the engineering field please let us know. Tim has had 3 interviews so far and one more on Wednesday, so we figure the laws of probability are on our side and something has to work out eventually right? We will keep the blog updated with any new news!!

Birthday Photos
These are just a few pictures from Davis' Birthday. I made him a Giraffe cake, if you couldn't tell, and he was happy as can be. At least until the next morning when he threw up all over his bed from too much cake and ice cream. Oh well, at least he enjoyed himself while he was eating :)

Happy First Birthday Davis
Well, our little man turned 1 on May 29!! I just can't believe a whole year has gone by so fast. He is such a joy to have in our family. He is always smiling and laughing. From the moment I go in to get him from his crib in the morning until he goes to bed at night, he makes me smile and laugh all day. He is so strong and actually took his first steps on his birthday. He got to have cake and ice cream on Emms birthday, at Aunt Haley's, at Grandma Diane's, and here on Thursday, so he is an expert now. He just loves to shove the cake in his face and make a huge mess. Obviously, food has never been a problem for him. Although he is thinning out a little bit since he started moving around so much. I made a slideshow of his first year, so look and enjoy. Happy Birthday Davis!!
