Half Marathon

Well, I fulfilled an item on my "Life Goals" list a few weekends ago. I ran the St. George 1/2 Marathon. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. It took me 2 hours and 59 minutes to run the 13.2 miles. I wasn't as prepared as I should have been, but I have a 7 month old baby (that is my excuse at least). I ran 8 miles before stopping to walk and I ended up walking 4 miles and then dragging myself the last mile. As some of you know, I gave birth to Davis all natural with no pain medication or IV- that was cake compared to this run. The last couple miles I just kept thinking "What was I thinking? I will never do this again!" But I will probablly do it again next year. These pictures are of Emmary practicing running across the finish line while waiting for me and then she ran up to me and we ran across the finish line together. I cried when I saw her coming and was so relieved to be done. We'll see if I go for the full marathon some day or if I just end up crossing that one off my list!

A Day at the Park

We have been having beautiful weather lately. Friday, Tim got off work at 11:00 so we decided to take the kids to the park. It was Davis' first time and he LOVED it!!!
Davis' face says it all!!!

Sleepy Time

For Christmas Tim bought me a double jogger with his bonus from work- Thanks Rosenburg!! Best present ever!!! You can't see from this angle, but the kids are holding hands under the blanket :)
I am not exagerating when I say that Davis will spend hours in this Jump-a-Roo. For anyone familiar with these, they are not the quietest contraption, but they sure do entertain well. One day I noticed that it wasn't as loud as it was supposed to be and I looked to find my sweet boy asleep. Another reason why we love the Jump-a-Roo: it wears the kids out!
Oh, sweet Emmary, she didn't get a nap in for the day and just before dinner we went to find where she was and she had fallen asleep on her way up the stairs.
Tim came home to find me and Emmary snuggled on the couch. Don't worry, Davis was napping as well.

My kids have been falling asleep in the cutest places latley so I thought would make a post dedicated to sleeping children (kids sleeping equals "Lost" time for mommy!)

Catching up

It's been way too long since I have posted anything new to the blog, and I feel so behind that I am going to skip Christmas. We had a great time and made some memories, but I don't feel like documenting them. Call it laziness, but I'm a busy woman! Really, it was a great holiday especially because my parents came to us for Christmas this year (yeah!!) and it made things so much easier on us. Minus my kids being sick the whole month of December and us spending
100$ in co-pays, we had fun. Come to find out, both of my kids basically have childhood asthma, which sounds worse than it is. We got a nebulizer and the medicine works fast and is so much better than worrying about cough medicine when they go into coughing fits. We are all happy and healthy now and I will download some pictures with our latest adventures.

Baker in Training

Grandma Diane got Emmary this cute baking apron and hat and she loves them. Making sugar cookies is her favorite. And every good chef samples the food first, right?

Davis, Davis, Davis

Davis' first time with solid food- it might as well have been Christmas!! He loved it.

Davis is just growing and getting cuter everyday. He is so smiley and happy. He weighs in at 22 pounds at 6 months. It's amazing to us that he can roll over with that big belly in the way.

Another day eating dinner- it's no surprise he's so big- eating makes him happy. He must get that from his mom!

Sunset

The other day Tim called me while he was on his way home from work and told me to look outside. I went out on the back porch and this is what I saw. It was just a gorgeous sunset and I am so happy our camera was functioning enough to get a great picture.
